Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have unveiled their highly anticipated collaborative album, ‘I Said I Love You First’, a 15-track collection that chronicles their personal love story.
Released under SMG Music, Friends Keep Secrets, and Interscope Records, the album marks the couple’s first joint project and celebrates their creative and romantic partnership.
The duo announced their engagement late last year, adding a deeply personal dimension to the album’s themes.
In a press release, the pair described the album as a natural extension of their relationship, born from the ease they felt working together creatively. “This project is our story—before we met, falling in love, and looking ahead to the future,” Gomez shared in an interview.

The album features notable collaborations, including Gracie Abrams on “Call Me When You Break Up,” J Balvin and Tainy on “I Can’t Get Enough,” and Charli XCX as a songwriter on “Bluest Flame.” The lead singles—“Scared of Loving You,” “Sunset Blvd,” and “Younger and Hotter Than Me”—have already garnered significant attention.
The latter is accompanied by a cinematic music video that depicts Gomez reflecting on her early stardom while wandering through an abandoned studio lot.
Blanco explained the deeper meaning behind the video in a behind-the-scenes feature: “When you’re young and a star, you’re thrown into this whirlwind of being everyone’s favorite.
Eventually, people move on to new things, leaving you in this limbo where you either evolve or fade away. It’s a lot of pressure at such a young age.”
Gomez added that the song resonates with her own experiences: “It reflects everything I’ve felt before—feeling out of place or socially awkward. It’s deeply personal.”
The couple described the making of *I Said I Love You First* as cathartic and healing. Blanco recalled how they would turn Gomez’s thoughts into songs each morning: “She’d wake up, I’d have a pen ready, and we’d create something beautiful together.” Gomez echoed this sentiment, saying that channeling their emotions into music made the process deeply meaningful.
The album also serves as a milestone for Blanco, as it will be the final release under his Friends Keep Secrets label, which closed last year.
As Gomez and Blanco continue to prepare for their wedding, they are embracing this creative collaboration as a reflection of their journey together. “This is such a special time for us,” Gomez said in a recent interview. “We’ve poured our hearts into this album to translate what we feel into something the world can experience.”
‘I Said I Love You First’ is available now on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Fans can also watch the music video for “Younger and Hotter Than Me” online.
