In a remarkable display of skill and determination, South Australia clinched a home Sheffield Shield final for the first time since 2016, defeating Victoria by four wickets at the Junction Oval. The victory was spearheaded by Jake Lehmann's inspirational unbeaten century and Liam Scott's career-best 83, as they successfully chased down a challenging target of 300 runs.

The match-defining partnership between Lehmann and Scott, which yielded 148 runs for the fifth wicket, proved to be the turning point of the game. Coming together with South Australia precariously placed at 108 for 4, the duo's resilience and calculated aggression turned the tide in their team's favor.

Lehmann, who described his 12th first-class century as one of the best of his career, played a pivotal role in the victory. His unbeaten 105 off 217 deliveries not only guided his team to victory but also saw him surpass 5,000 first-class runs.

Scott's contribution was equally significant, with his career-best 83 complementing his earlier bowling performance of 4 for 49. South Australia coach Ryan Harris praised Scott's development, highlighting his growing importance to the team.

The victory guarantees South Australia a home final, regardless of the outcome of their upcoming match against Queensland. For Victoria, the loss dealt a severe blow to their finals aspirations, leaving them in fifth position and facing an uphill battle to qualify.

Despite a late surge from Victoria's Scott Boland, who claimed two crucial wickets to keep his team's hopes alive, South Australia held their nerve. Lehmann, who survived a dropped catch on 80, sealed the victory in style with three consecutive boundaries.

As South Australia celebrates this significant achievement, they now look forward to hosting their first Sheffield Shield final in nearly a decade, marking a triumphant moment in their cricketing journey.
