Small Plane Crash in Brooklyn Park Neighborhood Leaves No Survivors - FAA and NTSB Investigate

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. - A small

aircraft crashed into a residential area of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon, killing everyone on board while miraculously sparing residents inside the struck home, authorities confirmed.


The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. local time near a neighborhood just northwest of Minneapolis. Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway confirmed in a press conference that there were no survivors from the aircraft but emphasized that no residents of emphasized that no residents on the ground were injured. The exact number of passengers aboard the plane remains unknown as of Saturday evening.


Flight Path and Investigation Underway


According to FAA records, the aircraft had departed from Des Moines International Airport in lowa and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in the Minneapolis area when it went down. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has dispatched a team to the crash site, with investigators expected to arrive Sunday to begin documenting the wreckage and determining the cause.


Officials Respond to the Tragedy


Minnesota Governor Tim Walz posted on X (formerly Twitter) that his office is in close contact with local responders. "We're monitoring the situation closely and are grateful to the first responders on the scene," he wrote.


Second Close Call in Days


The crash comes just one day after another aviation scare involving a Minneapolis-bound flight. On Friday, a Delta passenger jet narrowly avoided a collision with an Air Force jet after taking off from Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C. No injuries were reported among the 131 passengers aboard the commercial flight.
