More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's military offensive in Gaza, according to the enclave's Health Ministry, marking a devastating escalation just days after Israel ended a nearly two-month ceasefire.

The renewed airstrikes and ground operations have intensified the humanitarian crisis, with at least 673 people killed since Tuesday-over a third of them children.

Additionally, 233 previously missing individuals were confirmed dead, further inflating the grim toll.

The conflict briefly paused in January when Israel and Hamas agreed to a temporary truce, exchanging 33 Israeli hostages for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

The deal was meant to be the first of three phases toward a lasting peace, but negotiations collapsed on March 1 when Israel refused to discuss a full withdrawal from Gaza or further hostage releases. Instead, Israel extended the ceasefire before abruptly resuming attacks this week, reigniting a cycle of violence with no end in sight.
