Apple has officially confirmed that its 36th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place from June 9 to June 13, 2025.

The highly anticipated event will be held predominantly online, offering free access to developers worldwide, with a special in-person experience at Apple Park on the opening day.

This year’s conference is expected to showcase groundbreaking updates across Apple’s software platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS.

The five-day event will spotlight Apple’s latest tools, frameworks, and technologies while providing developers with opportunities to engage directly with Apple engineers and designers through virtual labs and video sessions.

The opening keynote on June 9 will set the stage for announcements about new features and advancements in Apple’s ecosystem. Developers can participate via the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel.

One of the most anticipated aspects of WWDC 2025 is a significant redesign of Apple’s core software platforms. Industry insiders suggest that the updates will feature a more modern, transparent aesthetic inspired by visionOS.

Early hints of this design direction can be seen in this year’s WWDC logo, which incorporates a translucent “25.” This could mark the most substantial visual overhaul since the introduction of iOS 7.

The redesign is expected to emphasize glass-like elements and a refined interface to create a unified look across devices. This evolution aims to enhance user experience while maintaining Apple’s signature focus on simplicity and functionality.

In addition to the virtual sessions, Apple will host an exclusive in-person gathering at its Cupertino headquarters on June 9.

Attendees will have the chance to watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union live, participate in group labs, and interact with Apple experts during special activities. Due to limited space, developers must apply for attendance through the WWDC25 website.

As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering innovation among young developers, Apple will announce the winners of this year’s Swift Student Challenge on March 27. These winners will be eligible to apply for the in-person event at Apple Park. Additionally, 50 Distinguished Winners recognized for their exceptional submissions will be invited to Cupertino for a three-day experience.

While specific details remain under wraps, WWDC 2025 is expected to unveil iOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, visionOS 3, and other software updates.

Speculation also suggests that hardware announcements could include new Macs or other surprises.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed excitement about this year’s event: “We’re thrilled to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community. We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

With its blend of cutting-edge technology and opportunities for collaboration, WWDC 2025 promises to be a landmark event for developers and tech enthusiasts alike as Apple continues to shape the future of its software ecosystem.
